Thelma Wharton has a B.A. in Mathematics from Lourdes College and a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Philippine Normal University, Philippines. She worked at Lourdes College from 1988-2003 as a mathematics instructor. Other than teaching, Lourdes College sent her for IT trainings and became IT coordinator for 5 years. She came to United States in 2004. After 6 months in Iowa, she then moved to Largo FL which she now considers as her home. Prior to working at SPC, Thelma was hired as a pricing specialist at Allikriste Cabinetry and Design in St. Petersburg FL. She was also an adjunct instructor at Hillsborough Community College for 7 years. She came to SPC, as an adjunct mathematics instructor in 2009 then worked as a full time Mathematics Instructional Specialist at the Seminole Campus from 2011 to 2022. But in May of 2022, she accepted the new position at the SP/Gibbs campus as a Learning Resources Supervisor for STEM.
