I originally planned to teach elementary school, but my path changed after a college algebra class at SPC helped math finally “click” for me. Seeing math in a new way inspired me to change my major to secondary mathematics, with the goal of helping my students discover a different side of math for themselves. I taught various levels of algebra and geometry in high school and served as the coach of Mu Alpha Theta. Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my two grandsons and volunteering at their school. I also enjoy crocheting and baking—both of which let me put my math skills to creative use.
