My love for teaching began during my time as a peer tutor. What started as helping fellow students quickly turned into something I genuinely looked forward to– collaborating with colleagues. I continue to maintain this perspective today, especially when working on instructional design and curriculum.
Since 2017, I have taught full-time in our BAS Dental Hygiene program, with a focus on educational concepts, research, and capstone design. Prior to that, I enjoyed teaching in our AS clinical program for 10 years. My teaching philosophy centers on providing the essential resources for students to do their best work, meeting their individual needs, as well as supporting their visions and career aspirations. I believe a positive, comfortable learning environment is essential for meaningful interaction and growth.
I have enjoyed a career in dental assisting, dental hygiene, and dental office practice management– but always a teacher at heart... my path has led me to work with you. I look forward to our time together and supporting your success. Let's have some fun!
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and pets, working on DIY projects, attending arts and crafts shows, playing select video games, and watching the latest streaming movies.
