Biography
Robert Buzzeo is a Professor of Biology at St. Petersburg College, where he teaches genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology and senior seminar for biology students. He previously served as faculty at Hillsborough Community College and at the University of South Florida as both an instructor and research scientist in the Department of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Microbiology. His instructional and laboratory experience includes tissue culture, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, molecular biology, DNA sequencing, and transgenic model systems including Caenorhabditis elegans, Drosophila melanogaster, and Danio rerio.
Robert Buzzeo’s research and instructional interests has focused on cancer biology, cellular signaling pathways, drug resistance, and the molecular mechanisms underlying disease progression. He has extensive experience working with primary and drug-resistant cell lines, viral packaging systems, advanced imaging technologies, and genetic manipulation techniques. His work has also included studies in neurobiology, mitochondrial dysfunction, model organism genetics, and translational approaches to understanding cancer cell invasion and therapeutic resistance.
Outside of academia, Robert enjoys spending time with his three sons and is an avid baseball fan. Go Rays! Go Titans!
