Originally from Montreal and raised in a bilingual English–French home, Melita Prins developed a lifelong love of language and culture. She holds a B.A. in French and an M.A. in French Literature from Arizona State University, as well as an M.S. in Academic Advising from Kansas State University. Having grown up and lived across Canada and internationally in Riyadh, Kuala Lumpur, and Auckland—along with Arizona, Florida, and Virginia—she brings a global perspective to her teaching and a deep appreciation for cultural exchange. She has taught French since 2010 at Arizona State University and since 2013 at St. Petersburg College. She has also taught at University of Tampa and University of Auckland. In addition, she taught AP Seminar and AP Research and served as a college counselor at Xavier College Preparatory. Melita enjoys teaching both lower- and upper-division courses and is passionate about helping students gain confidence in language learning while discovering the richness of the Francophone world.
