Maria Ines Andura is an experienced educator with over sixteen years of teaching experience and a strong foundation in International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, she began her career teaching English as a Second Language in both public and private school settings, including IB environments, and went on to found and direct a private language institute for seven years.
After relocating to the United States, Sra. Andura continued her work in language education, teaching Spanish at multiple levels and contributing to IB programs at both the primary and middle school years. Her teaching is rooted in a commitment to fostering intercultural understanding, developing students’ confidence in communication, and creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments.
Sra. Andura holds a master’s degree in Teaching Spanish (K–12) from the University of Alcalá in Madrid, Spain, awarded through a prestigious international scholarship. This experience further strengthened her instructional practices and deepened her dedication to globally minded education aligned with IB philosophy. She has actively contributed to curriculum development, including the design of Units of Inquiry and vertical alignment across grade levels, ensuring both international and state standards are met.
In addition to her classroom work, Sra. Andura values collaboration and interdisciplinary learning, supporting colleagues in integrating language across subject areas and working closely with students through small-group and individualized instruction. She has also created opportunities beyond the classroom to inspire language learning and cultural appreciation.
Her professional experience spans face-to-face, synchronous, and asynchronous instruction, and she continues to integrate technology into her teaching to enhance student engagement. As both a lifelong language learner and educator, Andura brings authenticity, empathy, and enthusiasm to her work, supporting students in becoming confident, globally aware communicators.
