Teaching Philosophy: The ideal learning environment should be focused on standards and curriculum, yet it should be treated as a living entity. Each student should be championed by expectations that reflect the curriculum, yet each student's diverse learning style has to be taken into account; meanwhile, the spirit of a traditional classroom setting is upheld, although more modern methods of delivery are utilized. As a subject is presented, one has to be aware of the students' grasp and comprehension of the given material. Delicate negotiations are necessary to mitigate changing worldviews and mindsets without watering down the spirit of the course work; keeping the effervescent worldviews of traditional and non-traditional learners stirred, should be among the instructor's goals. Students should entertain and challenge new ideas and experiences, while sustaining a disciplined focus. The instructor should engage learners to such a degree that they become more active learners who sift, extract, and synthesize material rapidly, as they maintain a well-rounded intellectual persona. Engaging these learners may morph into cooperative learning along with an infusion of an applicable dose of technology. On the other hand, at times, some traditionalism needs to be included for balance.
