Kimberly Queen Moldt, MA, LMHC, LMFT, CAP

My name is Kimberly Queen Moldt.  I am dually licensed in Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as being a Florida Qualified Supervisor for LMHCs, LMFTs and Licensed Clinical Social Workers.  I am also a Florida Certified Addiction Professional.  I have well over 30 years of experience with a background in government and health care administration, with a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Post Master’s Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I have taught as an Adjunct Faculty at St. Petersburg College since January 2006, teaching in the Human Services department.

In Florida, I have worked in a hospital psychiatric crisis unit which served as a Baker Act receiving facility; and I served as Administrator of Clinical Services at Operation PAR, at the Adult Residential Campus in Largo, a therapeutic community for people recovering from alcohol/drug addiction.  I supervised Program Directors and their staff which includes nurse administrator and nurses, counselors and interns, behavioral health technicians, case managers, and administrative support staff.

In West Virginia, I worked in a non-profit community mental health agency and for government in public health.

I spent eight years at Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center, a sliding fee scale non-profit, where I started as an intern and grew my career. I had my own practice there, served as the business manager, primary fundraiser and event planner as I transitioned from part-time to full-time Staff Therapist,  In West Virginia, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor and an Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor, I supervised other counselors in the absence of the Executive Director and ran an HIV/AIDS support group.

As a consultant, I have provided training to physicians, nurses and social workers on using Motivational Interviewing for HIV Prevention Counseling and Testing.  My clients include Pennsylvania Mid-Atlantic AIDS Education and Training Center, and the States of West Virginia and Tennessee Bureaus of Public Health AIDS Programs.  Prior to my work as a consultant, I worked for the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health and was trained as an Instructor Trainer in HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse and Harm Reduction at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. I supervised the quality of HIV counseling in public health departments, contractors in community based organizations statewide and a professional staff of public health educators.  I was also a volunteer Instructor Trainer and Disaster Mental Health Counselor for American Red Cross and a volunteer with the Charleston AIDS Network.

I am personally grateful for my favorite role as a mother of twin girls.  I am humbled by those I've met along my signature path and grateful for the gifts I've experienced in my career, helping others along their own paths to making lives better and affecting change.
