I have over 27 years of experience in the information technology field. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, with emphases in Database Management, Management Information Systems, and Business Management. My career began as a teaching assistant at UN-L while in my master’s program. Then, after graduation, I worked for Hughes Aircraft, where I supported Department of Defense projects. Over the next 15 years, I worked with the Department of Defense in roles including software engineer, systems engineer, test engineer, and project manager at companies such as Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, and TRW, building a strong technical and leadership foundation in complex systems development. As an instructor for SPC, I see my role as more than teaching technical skills—I aim to mentor, coach, and support students as they grow in knowledge, character, and purpose. I strive to teach with patience, clarity, and respect, creating an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and valued. By connecting real-world cloud computing practices with thoughtful reflection, I encourage students to pursue excellence, accountability, and responsible innovation. My goal is for students to leave this college not only technically capable but also committed to using their skills wisely and ethically, and with a sense of direction.
