Professor Keayah Pittman is an English instructor with a passion for helping students develop confidence in their writing and communication skills. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Women and Gender Studies from the University of South Florida. She later completed her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Western Colorado University, where she specialized in genre fiction.
Professor Pittman believes that writing is both a practical skill and a powerful form of self-expression. Her teaching philosophy centers on creating an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students feel challenged, encouraged, and empowered to reach their academic goals. She is committed to fostering meaningful teacher-student partnerships and providing individualized support that helps students grow as writers, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners.
When she is not teaching, Professor Pittman enjoys creative writing, reading across multiple genres, and exploring new storytelling techniques. She looks forward to helping students strengthen their writing skills and discover the confidence to communicate effectively both inside and outside the classroom.
