I am a Professor of Applied Ethics at St. Petersburg College (SPC). My background is in humanities, education, and ethics. My bachelor’s degree was in Humanities/Fine Arts at the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia; my master’s degree was in Industrial Education at Virginia State University, Petersburg, Virginia; PhD was in Higher Education at Florida State University; and graduate philosophy courses from St. Leo University and University of South Florida. I was privileged to work in the field of ethics in professional responsibilities and professional conduct in the Florida Department of Education for over fifteen (15) years and I joined St. Petersburg College in 2003. I enjoy teaching the Introduction to Ethics course where I do my part in transforming students’ lives. This is, perhaps, the most consequential course that students take at SPC. The course focuses on the reasoned study of what is right and wrong, origin of western philosophy, moral development, ethics environment, critical thinking including logic and fallacies, ethical theories both consequential and nonconsequential, matters of life and death, and other major issues of our time, among others. I look forward to working with you and wish you the best.
