Born in Coshocton, Ohio and raised in “the Uplands” of West Baltimore during the turbulent 1960s, Jensen’s educational journey was anything but linear. After attending Franklin High School in northern Baltimore County, he spent years navigating various colleges before settling into a self-directed path of relentless intellectual growth. His academic background is complemented by an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Community Colleges of Baltimore County as well as a Master of Arts in Mass Communication and a Bachelor of Science in the same discipline from Towson University in Maryland, where he completed both degrees in under two years through an accelerated scholarship program. and numerous professional certifications in emergency medical response, disaster communication, and public affairs operations. Alongside his formal education, he traveled to 49 U.S. states, over a dozen countries, and trekked some of the most scenic trails on Earth. Whether in a classroom or a command center, Kevin J. Jensen has devoted his life to the twin arts of communication and service—forever a teacher, forever a student. Hired in 1996 and credentialed in four departments.
