Work History: I started my nursing career as an LPN working in long-term care. I moved on to supervise a 54-bed memory care unit for Alzheimer's/Dementia patients. After spending three years in long-term care, I transitioned to acute care. In acute care I worked as a charge nurse on a surgical/telemetry (post-op) unit at Largo Medical Center specializing in General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. I started my career at the VA in 2014 on the Inpatient General Surgery unit (3D) specializing in thoracic, vascular, orthopedics, general surgery, bariatrics, plastics, urology, GYN, and ENT. On 3D I worked as one of the day shift charge nurses and was very active in hospital-wide committees. In June 2019 I was promoted to Assistant Nurse Manger on CLC-Central and transitioned to the Nurse Manager position in October 2019. In December 2024 In transferred to Mental Health Nursing and am currently the Nurse Manager for Mental Health Residential Rehabilitative Treatment Programs (MHRRTP). In addition to my VA career, I have been an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for St. Petersburg College of Nursing since 2020. Family: I have been married to my husband for 28 years and have five children (4 boys & 1 girl). My oldest son is a Combat Veteran and now owns a CrossFit gym. My son Cody works in IT. My son Cole is an RN at Bay Pines VA in Acute Care, and my daughter Chelbie is a NA in Nursing Operations. My youngest son, Chase, is a Firefighter/Paramedic for Pasco County Fire Rescue. I have been blessed to be a “CiCi” to my 5 grandchildren (4 girls & 1 boy), Censley 6, Ginger, 5, Carlee 4, Cailyn 20 mos., and Gunnar 5 days old. Hobbies and Talents: I stay busy with such a large family. I spend as much time as possible on CiCi Duty with my grandbabies. When I am not busy with family, I very much enjoy reading. Education: I received both my ADN and BSN from St. Petersburg College of Nursing. My graduate degree is an MSN in Nursing Leadership and Management from University of Central Florida. I am Board Certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
