James "Chris" Lumia invested the first decade of his career in adult and higher education, eventually serving as a Program Director for a large, multi-campus state college. During this time, he also began to practice real estate. Chris then decided to blend these two passions, and became a Lead Trainer for Stellar MLS, a large real estate technology company. In that role he helped the company refine its customer training strategy as it expanded to new markets, doubled its number of subscribers, and increased its product offerings. He then transitioned into his current role of Director of Business Development, where he connects the day-to-day operations of the business development team to the company's strategic goals for growth and stakeholder engagement. Chris has a bachelor's degree in economics, a master's degree in business administration, a specialist's degree in higher education leadership, is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and a Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI). Chris has taught a variety of real estate licensing and continuing education courses, and served as a curriculum consultant and subject matter expert for real estate publishing and testing companies. He is an adjunct instructor for St. Petersburg College, where he teaches courses in adult learning, corporate instructional design and educational technology. Chris volunteers with organizations focused on economic empowerment. He was a founding board member of Creating Jobs, Inc. (www.creatingjobs.org), served as their treasurer, and provides pro bono instructional design services to the Creating Jobs Academy. He also assisted The Full Circle (formerly Entrepreneur Development Box) in creating a video course used to train entrepreneurs in underserved communities around the globe. Additionally, Chris was the Vice President of Finance of the Florida Suncoast Chapter of the Association for Talent Development in 2019 and 2023 and the current PTA Treasurer at Leila Davis Elementary School. Chris lives in Clearwater, Florida with his wife Taryn and daughters Carley and Camryn.
