Welcome to my SPC faculty page. I teach political science courses at the College in the School of Social and Behavioral Science and Human Services. I am also a thinker, a writer, a 12 Monkeys' time traveler, a club 26.2, and a FC Bayern München superfan. I have a Ph.D. in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public & International Affairs (GSPIA). Prior to that, I obtained a Master of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Development Policy and Administration at the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science at the Universite de Montreal in Quebec. I generally specialize in international development policy, and comparative government and politics. I am particularly interested in the developmental aspect of politics and public policy and transformative political and administrative processes in developing regions of the world. Pedagogically, I value critical, civil, and civic student engagement. I always strive to help students develop independent thinking and problem-solving skills required to become leaders for a diverse, multicultural, and global society. These, I believe, are critical skills for today’s graduates. As a scholar, My research has appeared in several scholarly outlets, including Public Administration and Development, Development Policy Review, Small-Scale Forestry, and Forests, Trees, and Livelihoods. Beyond academia, I regularly contribute to political and administrative discussions about public policies, democratic governance and accountability in Central Africa. Some of these opinion pieces have appeared in various French and English-language news outlets, including Jeune Afrique, Gabon Review, The Nation (East Africa) Africa Defense Forum, and The Conversation. Lastly, I also have been interviewed by news outlets such as the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), BBC’s Focus on Africa, Deutsche Welle, and World Politics Review (WPR) about politics and government in the central African region. Finally, I occasionally provide political analysis to investment funds and private economic firms as part of their country’s political risk analysis. Feel free to contact me anytime here at SPC, whether you are a student seeking guidance and help, or someone who needs my assistance.
