Dan Hetzel is a Grammy Award-winning and twice-nominated Grammy Award mix engineer, recording engineer, producer, instructor, and musician. His audio engineering work can be found on Gold- and Platinum-certified recordings with artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, Mariah Carey, Marc Anthony, Billy Porter, Celine Dion, Jessica Simpson, Enrique Iglesias, Diana Ross, Brie Larson, Donna Summer, RuPaul, Steven Seagal, Dee Snider, LL Cool J, Taylor Dayne, and many others. Dan’s mixing and engineering work also appears on award-winning albums and films, including the multiple-Oscar-winning Chicago, Ella Enchanted, and Shall We Dance. Hetzel's work spans over 35 years, and in dozens of recording studios in New York City, Long Island, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, London, Moscow, and Sweden. In addition to his extensive work in audio, He is an accomplished videographer and brings valuable teaching experience from several colleges and high schools. Hetzel is an Avid Pro Tools Certified Instructor and Avid Pro Tools Certified Expert. He has taught audio classes in both the St. Petersburg College Music Industry Recording Arts (MIRA) and Digital Media programs. Professor Hetzel looks forward to sharing his real-world insights and practical skills with students and the campus community at SPC.
