Mary has been a Registered Nurse for over 27 years, with more than 15 years of experience in bedside nursing across medical-surgical units, the emergency department, the cardiac catheterization lab, and dialysis. In addition, she has dedicated over a decade to academia and nursing education. Her teaching philosophy centers on facilitating learning through inspiration and discovery, fostering an environment that is both stimulating and thought-provoking. She views nursing as a lifelong journey, where teaching and learning are continuous, interconnected processes. Mary believes that education and lifelong learning are pillars of success in nursing. She emphasizes that nursing is both an art and a science, and that the transfer of knowledge depends on a reciprocal exchange between educator and student. Her goal is to equip students with leadership skills, professionalism, compassion, and the ability to think critically. Equally important are attributes such as confidence, respect, and accountability, which she strives to instill in every student through the discovery and acquisition of knowledge in the classroom.
