Hi! I am Lou LaGrande. I live in Seminole, Florida. Seminole is about 40 minutes away from Tampa, Florida. I prefer to be called Mr. LaGrande or Mr. L I am a retired educator, teacher, administrator and college instructor, living with my wife here in Pinellas County. I am also a retired Coast Guard Reservist. My wife and I are very fortunate in that all of our grandchildren, ages 16-21, live within 40 minutes of our home. Needless to say, we spend lots of time with family. I received my bachelor’s and master's degrees from the University of South Florida, Go Bulls. My master's is in History and Education, and I meet certification requirements to teach at the elementary, secondary, and college levels. My favorite things to do are reading, taking care of grandchildren, traveling, and teaching. I am very happy to be working with SPC. I am also working part-time for the University of South Florida. The latest book that I have read is The American Story by David M. Rubenstein. This is an excellent book that explores the personal perspectives of 15 different historians on the great personalities in our history. You will see the results of my latest readings in some of your classwork. My grandchildren, two boys and two girls, keep my wife and me busy. They all love to talk, tease, and play all sorts of games, board games, PC games, and family games. I can’t remember the last time I won at Uno. My travels have taken my wife and me throughout the United States and several countries in Europe. I am looking forward to working with all of you over the next few months.
